Compressor seal kit?
Well, I have had a slow refrigerant leak that I have finally pinpointed to be coming from the actual body of my AC compressor. Does anyone know if there is a rebuild kit available? The compressor works wonderfully otherwise.
I have a rather interesting video to prove it. You can see a tiny amount of oil bubbling. YouTube |

Can anyone verify if this is the correct gasket/seal kit? Saw it posted on Rennlist...

I rebuilt mine with this seal kit from Griffiths Technical. Worked perfectly.

Griffiths, $60 with $20 shipping for a bunch of O rings. Jeeze!

The good news- the compressor only leaks if I run it. As long as I never use my air conditioner it will continue to work.

In fairness, it also includes the carbon seal and hardware... but for me it just came down to getting everything all at once from one place or spending forever trying to find the various pieces. Bought this and was done with it.

Also make sure you are fully up to date on the type and amount of oil to replace, and the amount of R-134a to recharge with. |
