Rear Main Seal Alternative
Seems that 99710226491 fits. Dimensions are the same. Number comes back to 997 GT3RS. . .a Porsche Motorsport part.
Price is insane, north of a hundred bucks. Anyone done this? Thanks. rasta P.S. Please remember, the question is "anyone done this." Answering by saying "why would anyone ever do this" is in extremely poor form. You know who you are. |
Is it the same material? Hard to imagine it being that much radically different. May be nice to let the 997 guys know so they can save a few bucks if RMS ever needs replacing.

I seem to remember that my dealer had drip pans under 997's as the rear mains leaked. I googled and it does seem common, but I didn't see any Porsche TSB's on it from porsche....

Looks like the 997 uses crankcase vacuum to seal the rms against the shaft, the dealer leaks were probably caused by the cars not being driven.
Why did you want to do this again? lol |
