Rod cap installed backward

Last weekend while changing rod bearings, I got to the last one and the motor would not rotate after torquing the cap. Inspection found that #2 had the rod installed backwards in the piston. When reassembling I only paid attention to the direction of the numbers engraved on the cap and I did not check the numbers on the rod itself on last couple. I elected to remove the piston and reverse the rod and reinstall. The rod is now installed in its correct orientation and the motor rotates as well as it did before disassembly.

My question - by installing the rod cap backwards on the new bearing, and torquing, did I warp or damage the bearing itself? Any possibility that the rod cap has lost its shape?

I did plastigage it and it's within spec, however the clearance is slightly lower than the other cylinders.

I don't mind spending $63 for another set of rod bearings but it slows the building down....

i believe i read that all the numbers should be on the same side on all the rods so that implies the rods (and caps) are faced.

yes, replace the caps. even 0.0001" is a drop in oil pressure and longevity.
