No brake lights on my 944

I just took delivery of a new to me 86 turbo and it failed my state inspection due to no brake lights. I checked the fuse (number 19 in the fuse box, 15 amp) and the brake light switch (checks good with a multi-meter). I get continuity between the switch and the rear light cluster and all the bulbs are good. All the other bulbs in the cluster work correctly. Anyone have any ideas? Am I missing a relay somewhere? Really scratching my head on this one. Thanks

check your brake light switch right above the brake pedal, readjust it and lights should be illuminate when depressing the brakes.

If not, look here, and use the search feature on here, it's invaluable.

Found the problem

It appears the problem was in the fuse box itself. The fuse receptacle had been deformed at some point and it was no longer firmly making contact with the fuse. My thanks to folks who took the time to respond. Appreciate it.

Mine had the same issue with the radio fuse not having continuity due to the spreading of the fuse contacts. I had to throw a shim in the fuse to get switched power back to my radio/antenna/eq.

If one buys replacement ceramic fuses, make sure the body is ceramic not plastic. Plastic melts and causes trouble.

Edit....And thank you for posting your solution....
