Vortex metal thing?

I pulled the J-Boot off my MAF and saw that there was a metal piece that looks as if it is supposed to create a vortex of air going into the throttle body. Is this stock? Should I be concerned? Recommendations? Thanks!

Rip the snake-oil POS out before it breaks and ruins your car. Don't believe me...see reviews:

Well, LOL!

Years ago I bought one at a local store for a BMW E30. The cashier claimed I could return it within 30 days for a full refund. I used it for a few weeks and checked my mileage but didn't see an increase. It was easy to install/remove and I got my money back. No harm/no foul.

Vielen Danks

Thanks for the replies. I took that "Tornado" POS out right away! What a load! One piece of stamped cheap steel - GONE! Once again, you'll never know what a PO will have done to their autos. At least his Porsche Club of America sticker looks cool. Thanks again.

Now your job is to go through the rest of the car and discover other "improvements" that may be lurking...

Ah the ghost of PO past, enjoy!

All kidding aside, glad to hear you removed it.
