PO's. We all have one and they all stink.

Finally got to dig into my 944 long term build and keep bumping up against PO badness.



In this photo, it appears that a PO has taken a chisel to a balance shaft to make the gear fit tighter. This is why I had to fabricate a puller to remove the gear. PO was apparently unaware that this gear should be a sliding fit.




In this photo, a PO has installed some combination of new style parts into an old style thermostat seat. Since it all didn't fit just right, he stuffed the circlip in without any hope that it would lock into the groove. Entire package was sort of floating loosely in place.

Since I know my PO, I don't actually think he did the work. So this was even further back the chain or it was a "professional" mechanic.

History. If we aren't aware of it, we are doomed to repair it.
