Another temp. question!

What exactly is the proper coolent operating temp. for an 86 N/A

I know not to trust the gauge as it's just a couple of hash marks. so If anyone knows the actual reccommended op temp, please let me know.

AFJuvat 11-16-2002 06:07 AM

Correct engine operating temp range is between 40 & 105 degrees centigrade.

Somewhere between a luke warm hot tub and a Yellowstone Geyser is close?

You guys are are funny as a screen door in a submarine on a bird in a bush with stones of a feather.

Mytoy944 11-17-2002 03:21 AM

Damn! You guys are brutal! Ok ok I guess I deserved that! So let me get this straight. It's somewhere between 32f and the melting point of aluminum?http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat5.gif

I just hope none of you ever need help with your Subaru WRX!!!!

todwic 11-17-2002 03:25 AM

LMAO! That's telling em, myt!
Now about that firing order of my subaru...
Wilk's site has a wealth of information, most of it useful. Here's what the gauges mean

Mytoy944 11-17-2002 03:33 AM

Subi firing order is simple

pour gas,
lite match
step back
:D

todwic 11-17-2002 03:38 AM

Nooooo, I'm pretty sure hotdogs come into play somewhere in there.

TODWIC - Hey man, thanks for the link to "what the gauges mean". I've been wondering what the hash marks mean---this is good information. Thanks again!

AFJuvat 11-17-2002 04:00 PM

heheh actually the temp range I gave you is taken directly off of the temp gauge.

The engine needs to be at least 40 C for a temp to start registering on the gauge.

Juvy, this is America, home of the SAE and &degF. Nobody knows what that stupid little C means. I want 1000 copies of the conversion tables on my desk by % oclock. And yes, by gawd, I want N/M & Kw!!

AFJuvat 11-18-2002 01:58 AM

Figure about 90 to 220 degrees F
