I did check that nothing there looks and smells dry I used Clarks garage to test the referabce and speed sensors and it read 1100 ohms on one of the terminals on both sensors but when I went to measure for the 1m ohm test it went up then slowly went down to 0 dont think itd supost to do that? Also gunna flush every drop of gas out today and try new gas. Car sat close to 3 years I'm guessing so cause some one did a tune-up and timing belt in 2012 at 77,000 miles its got 89,000 now but some one did an oil change and it has a total of 212miles on the windshield sticker and that was from 2012 as well so gas is pretty old thanks sgain

You have already checked the speed and reference sensors by turning the car over and it trying to idle. Here's where you are.

1.) injectors are black
2.) spark plugs are black
3.) exhaust smoke is black
4.) blows gas out of the spark plug holes
5.) starts and idles rough

All of these issues are symptomatic of an extremely rich mixture. Get back with us once the damper and FPR are replaced.

Speed/reference sensors are not the problem. If they didn't work the car would not start at all. I wouldn't waste my time filing it back up with new gas and starting it until the new FPR/Damper/fuel filter are in and I would definitely consider doing FOES before running the car anymore- you don't want to spend all of your time and money getting her to run and then snap the timing belt on the first drive!

I know how you feel man, I was really anxious to get my first Porsche on the road too. However, it's not a Honda Civic. You can't run down to AutoZone and fill up a shopping basket with parts and get her from the junk yard to the street in a couple of days. It takes a lot of patience to wait 1-2 weeks for parts to come in the mail just to continue troubleshooting once you get them.

Just because 924/944's can be bought for cheap doesn't mean they can be owned for cheap. Hell no they can't.

Replaced the fuel regulator cause found one in town at AutoZone didn't change anything if anything made it worse

They didn't have a damper and I was looking at ordering a damper but on the bottom of mine nothing conects to it but online all the pics show there is threads and a hole for something to hook up to?

The damper gets fuel and vacuum.

If the damper is not leaking gas and you are really sure of this, then you probably have to pull and clean/test and maybe replace the injectors. All this fuel is coming from somewhere and if the car sat a long time the injectors could be gummed up badly.

The other possibilities are that the DME temp sensor is bad Seeing very cold weather and fueling to match) or the DME itself is flat nuts.
