944 Turbo R/C car

Picked up this bad boy recently, not sure if it's rare or not but I thought it was cool!

Well that all sounds like fun but first I have to fix 3 oil leaks, change the timing belt, recover the driver seat, do something about the dash, and save for a clutch.

i actualy had one similar to that when i was a kid, ranove the smallest piece of wet cement and it never worked again. tossed it . it should be from late 80's to early 90's right?

Its a very creative take on a 944 turbo's front end. Looks more like the original Euro with extra vents. I'm not exactly sure what their body designers where thinking, must not of been owners.

What scale is it? I've got a bunch of 10th scale stuff around.

I painted and fit this TVR body onto my monster truck chassis, really liked it.

Just for fun I called Radio Shack to see if they still sold them. I told the fellow there the model number/ Catalogue number was 60-3096 and he told me he had never heard of such a number or even a car like that - he must have been a newby or under 40yo.

Looks like allot of fun there - especially if you ever find the Fuchs in the correct size. Let's see was that early or late offset?

I'm guessing it's from the 80's, "made in Hong Kong" haven't seen that in a while. It's got to be styled after the 924 Carrera GT in my opinion with the front vents, boxy rears and larger hatch spoiler, appears to be 1/18 or very close. Strangest issue is the cookie cutters.

I just have to resist the temptation to paint it Guards red!

Acquired from eBay on 14 Jan 2014. Probably the closest I'll get to owning a GTR

Decals are all missing, but it works great.
