Lexan hatch

Im getting sum new hatch shocks shortly which will most probably part my glass hatch from its frame requiring regluing. whether or not this happens, id love to replace my waterstained 24yr old hatch wiv a lexan one and if i beg/ plead/ pay beers, i can get one made up at a section at my work that works with grp materials.
I already know how to care and maintain lexan (from lexan windows on copters)
My questions are:
#Can a tint be applied?
#Can a demisting system similar to the glass hatch be applied?

Cheers fullas

I would imagine that as long as Lexan doesn't mind high temps, I'd think that a defroster could be easily fitted in the same manner as it is to a glass hatch. You can buy aftermarket kits at some places here in the states to add a defroster to a car that doesn't have one, so I'd guess that you could use the wiring from a kit like that along with the stock connectors and then you'd have your defroster.

I don't know enough about Lexan to know if that would start to melt it or discolor it though.

lexan tends to fog after time. don't know if it can be polished, suspect it can. a longtime racer would be able to tell you for sure.

If you add those little round "blind spot" mirrors to your side view mirrors you really don't need to see through the rear glass.

I have the little round mirrors on ALL of my vehicles.......I won't drive w/out them =)
