Leaking 924S automatic transmission

I just purchased a 1988 924S with a leaky automatic transmission. The leak is/was pretty bad. We replaced the the torque converter seal and added a "repair sleeve". Reinstalled and no change. The car will leak even when the is off and not under pressure. It drips almost straight down not spinning so believe it must be behind the torque converter. We tried to exam the inside with a flex scope but could not find anything wrong. We did see what appears to be a machined hole. Could it be missing a bolt? Couldn't be that simple. We are going to reorder the seal just on the off chance the first one was wrong. If anyone has had similar problems and can suggest a solution we would be greatly appreciative. Thanks!
