Porsche Crest 951 hatch issues

My hatch used to open, but now when I hit the switch all I hear is an electric motor noise, and cheap fixes? I forgot to mention the hatch stays closed, and will not open with the switch.

Sounds more like the latches need to be cleaned. I've not cleaned mine in forever. My rear hatch will not pop open like it used to. I've replaced the lifting jacks but I just don't think the latches are releasing long enough. Or, since my glass has started to separate from the frame, the latches are out of alignment enough to interfere with the latch pins.

Can you open the hatch using the key? Likely the linkage has disconnected from the solenoid, mine has had that from time to time, the plastic keeper lets the wire detach.

Hope you can sort it out. Bill

I'd also make sure your car is on flat ground, sometimes they won't open if your car is on a bump or like a drive way entrance
