Electrical connection behind throttle switch
I'm am working on my 87 951, and while putting the manifold on, I broke a single connection right behind the throttle switch. It is a lone brown wire with a female like connection, on mine it is a brown wire, not a ground/ or color has faded, connects to a peg, about 2" behind the throttle switch. What is that? Something that deal with the turbo oil pump?
Note- picture is from before I have done work

Nasty fire.
The wire you mention is to the turbo coolant pipe sensor, which activates the relay for the turbo coolant pump (there is no turbo oil pump.)

Thank you very much. Wasn't sure on the exact name. Was looking at parts that looked like that, but didn't want to make a purchase until I knew exactly what it was, thanks. Found a new one on eBay from AdvancedAuto parts for $33 bucks. About $50 less than all the other prices for new ones I could find. Thanks again
The fire wasn't extremely bad, fun to put back together. Mostly all wires and all plastic from the battery, along the firewall, under the manifold, to the air box was melted. Have her running, just some little things to be sorted out. Unless I break more stuff putting things back in, just like this instance . See you live in New York. I have to deal with New York getting a salvage/ title examination in the next few days/weeks. Ever have to do that before? |
