Timing Belt - Dumb Question

Ok, here's a good one...

When installing a new timing belt, is the timing belt roller removed while tensioning the belt? What about the metal rail? I'm assuming that both items are not installed, mainly due to lack of space, but I may be totally wrong here. Thanks for the help (it's my first TB/BB job).

I've got the Arnworks tensioner if you need it.

Thanks guys!!

JonA,
I've got the tool but I would be more than happy to pay you to come by and verify my work. The tool kind-of confuses me so I tensioned both belts using the 90 & 180 degree test. Please PM me if your available.

So, we have success!! Thanks Jon for coming over this afternoon and QA'ing my work. A little adjustment here and there and she fired right up. I greatly appreciate these 944 boards in supporting fellow 944 owners in our quest to keep these machines alive.

Now, I just have to wait on the custom seat covers due to arrive this week.
