Getting key duplicated

Anyone have the German key (Huf?) with the Porsche emblem and a little light? How'd you get dupes? I've been trying for years.

Ebay has lots for sale. I'm sure there are more and even better sites, though. Having them cut? Well that's a different story.......

you can order both parts here... (Pelican) have the key cut before you assemble the pieces.
My local guy can do it, I imagine most locksmiths can.

So I send my key out to Pelican?

Or I have to order a new tumbler with key?

You order the blank keys from here or elsewhere and then take them to be cut. Go to a real locksmith and have them cut. They're too expensive to let the yo-yo's at home depot or lowes do it (if they even would).

Yes, Nightheart has it right.

Get the parts and take them to the locksmith (with your key).

I just had my spare keys cut by the local locksmith shop.
I don't have the fancy key head though - I got my original key duplicated onto an Isuzu blank that was the right shape/size.

Was like $7/ea...

I did get another spare key made recently at Lowes/HD though, and it works fine.

If you just want a spare key, you get them pretty much anywhere. I got a few cut at the local Napa shop for a few dollars. They don't say porsche on them or have the lighted head, but they work fine. I don't know what they used as a blank, but they had it in stock. The local lowes in my area is terrible at cutting keys. I've had a few done for cars and house doors and about 50% of them work. That would obviously vary by location, but it soured me on lowes's keys. Walmart's cut a few keys for me and they have worked fine.

If you want a "porsche" key, order one (or more) and call around. Somebody will cut them for you.

Older vw and Audi key blanks work for the 944s and you can do them at Walmart or Sears for pretty cheap as a back up key

Then he's an amateur... The key is nothing special.
928 keys are bit more involved.
