Question Idle speed acting freaky...not another idle shudder quesstion

Cars been running fine...a little rich through and the plugs are carbon fouled, but anyway, it's always idled at 950rpm +/- 25. Never higher when cold, never lower when warm. I started her last night, and she idled at 950, no problem, until I tapped the gas pedal. She jumped to 2000 and only settled down to 1250....I couldn't get the idle to drop, even after driving. I turned the car off, and restarted....950rpm again, good!, but then I hit the gas and the same thing happened...1250. So I tried for a third time, restarted, and automatically idled at 1250 w/out me touching the gas!!! I've replaced the intake boot, checked for vacuum leaks, etc... I've run a search for this type of problem, but couldn't come up w/ a topic stating this...

Oh, and I checked the throttle linkage, no binding, or any hangups at all....Please Help!!

Thanks
