Those were 924 S 2.7 prototypes. I happen to own one of those, sadly it is a race car. previous owner bought it from germany for cheap thinking that someone just converted to oval dash. But it was factory, with late gearbox, late flush sitting windscreen etc.

The prototypes were not sold to public, half of them were destroyed after it became apparent that 924 line will be discontinued and half of them were sold to employees.

As a matter of interest, does the prototype 924S 2.7 still have the metal fuel tank? And the engine management unit under the steering column?

I got the prototype as a chassis but the DME location was in the passenger footwell. And gas tank was metal.

I did see photos once upon a time of a 924S skinny body with the late 944 interior and 2.7L engine fitted.
Might have been production one-off?
Or maybe a 1989 944 with little fenders fitted :p

My wife would LOVE that thing. Hell, I would too. She's a purple fan.

That front bumper needs a bit of alignment :) But the interior photo is from another car (notice the 924 has flag mirrors and the interior photo car has passenger side aero mirror).

Here are photos of the DLS Automobile car interior: Porsche 924 S 2.7 Werks-Versuchsträger/ Prototyp! | DLS Automobile

That sold car doesnt appear to have the front rubber valance spoiler. Also the wood trim inside is so out of keeping with the car.
