Where to get TT bearings
So I'm finally biting the bullet and swapping my static clutch auto to a manual.
Plyhammer has set me up with all needed parts and my Pelican order just came in with Master/Slave and other assorted stuff and the clutch should show up Tuesday. It's all broken down and after removing the TT from the car and the torque converter plate from the TT, my TT bearings are a bit rough/noisy. Since I need to drill mounts for the shifter I figured I'd do that when the bearings are out for replacement. Where can I get the bearings? I don't see them listed on Pelican and the factory parts diagrams don't seem to show part numbers Also, can some one measure the location of the mounting holes from the rear of the front TT tube mounting flange to help me locate them correctly?

Any bearing shop will have them. There are threads on rebuilding them.

Call Black Sea RD and buy a set of their "Superbearings" for your 944.

Or you can use these; it's what I installed on my spare TT:

Dr DIY, Black Sea RD would be great, but that's half of my rebuild budget.
pfarah, thanks for the info, is there a reason you went with those instead of the skf 6006 2rs1 c4's I found referenced in Clarks Garage yesterday? I have read so many discussions and between inner sleeve materials and bearing clearance c3 vs c4, I'm confused. Also, anyone have a TT out that they can measure the front tube flange to shifter bolt location length? That is one thing I have not been able to locate anything about.

If my memory serves me correctly, the factory bearings were C2 which is now unavailable. Also, I took the originals to a local bearing shop (the owner, Steve, is one of a dying breed) that knows more about this subject than anyone in my local area and recommended the units shown. I implore anyone to correct me if I'm wrong as it's been a couple/three years since I rebuilt mine.

I measured two used tubes (both off 1984 cars) and came up with these distances:

Thanks for all the help, took 2 of us about 14 hrs (we worked slow) but got the TT bearings replaced. Not sure if the old ones were original. Read several threads that the factory ones were c2, but the ones that came out were marked c4, and looked to have the original rivets in the carriers. Replaced with c3's. Now on to the rest of the build!

I used the 6006 ZZ C3 EMQ cause the max RPM was 13,000 vs 7,00 for some of the others. Didn't want to be that close to the max RPM. They were about $20 each at a local bearing shop. The hardware for the hardware for the rebuild was about $50, mostly cause I stripped one threaded rod with an impact. Some grease on the rod would have helped that. It was well worth it as the bearing closest to the trans was positively loose and rattled when I shook it. Good luck!

IF you are asking about the sleeves that are between the bearings and the shaft, nope, they were in great shape! The carriers were in good shape too. Just had to re-rivet them. That was a pit of a pain... my pop rivet tool head didn't fit deep enough. Had to grind the rivet sides down, take them off the shaft, and then used a punch on top and a and a small nut under them on the other side to keep them seated right. Then a whack on the rivet seated them fine.
