Alternator rebuild kit...?
I need to rebuild my alt and found a kit which has the 2 bearings and VR. The alt is ofc a 90 amp Bosch but this kit claims it is for this alt but the specs list it as a 75 amp kit. Does not make sense to me! Am I missing something here? Thanks!

Current is determined by other parts.
I suggest a Bosh or Huco regulator, they are $14 or so on Ebay. No-namers I would not trust. You can also save money by just replacing the brushes for a few bucks, there are vids on Youtube on how to do this. You need a decent soldering gun or similar. It's pretty easy and the OEM regulator is a solid part and if your cooling tube is working it'll last forever IMO. These are the bearings, decent "premium" Chinese ones can be had on Ebay for a few bucks 6201 2RS BEARING-12x32x10mm 6303 2RS BEARING-17x47x14mm I got EMQ "Premium" HCH bearings. They seemed to be good. I add a little extra synthetic grease as I feel they are stingy with the grease from the factory, just a pea. Couple lentils. Not too much, the ball bearings should not plow grease once distributed. -Joel.

Also Standard FX-45 or Wells FAX86 brushes should work and are $5 at the auto parts store.

How do you add grease to a sealed bearing without damaging the seal?

Pop the seal out with an eyeglass screwdriver. This works with the rubber/plastic seals and works to keep a lot of stuff going that wears out after the grease migrates away over time. Alternator bearings are often pretty good, just getting dry.
Check youtube or google for pics of this process. I feel for a gap, um, between the balls.
