How big of a spoon or even a ladle do you want us to use when we start feeding you the humility?

But before that tell us why she went up.

Betting something let go on top of the exhaust (not much else really in that area of the engine)

My sympathies - hate to see a car go up in flames - did you have any warnings before this happened that could serve as an example to others?

Really have to look at it after all the powder and melted hood liner is cleaned off.

Biggest potential problem is if the hood has been buckled from the heat. If not but the paint has bubbled then it has to be stripped down to the metal and refinished now. Or say hello to Mr. Rust. Same with any other metal part such as the fender, the front nose piece and the head light cover.

As it looks you could just replace the fuel lines and related hardware and some of the wiring and drive it away.

My car had a fire before I bought it. Not as bad as that one though. The coil caught on fire and it burnt things around it. I think that's why the previous owner gave it up and it sat from 6 years. It left a fairly large spot on the hood where the paint looked horrible. You can't tell it was there anymore...

That's not a fire!!!! That's a flicker.

A real car engine fire involves melted plastic. How long did it burn for?

My Sidekick caught on fire and burned for close to 10-15 minutes and all plastic under the hood was gone.

But seriously, it doesn't look too bad......

naw, no loss at all..maybe one vacuum line at most. The hood was open at the time, and it onlyt burned maybe 10-12 seconds before my mechanic leaped out of the car and put it out. He said i took 5 years off his life. It was one of my SS fuel lines that leaked and flared up. Everything you see in the pic is all from teh extinguisher. I even have that powder in the interior

By the way, this is Elondooberhad posting under Ahmets' name.

I hearby retract all nancyboy-esque statements about Boyee's lifestyle choice. I'd easily mistake him for an East-of-California American!

Was it the vacum line that caused the fire? I was teching a 951 at Lime Rock (PCA - DE event) and noticed a gasoline smell, and then saw the gas dripping out of the pressurized fuel line. We told Patrick (driver of said 951) to shut her down immediately! A mechanic was able to fix his problem on the spot, and he was able to run the event without any problems.

Yes, tech lines are an important thing for track duty.

Sorry to hear of your fire.

todwic - I don't get what you're saying there........???

An East-of-California American..........huh????

.......and what about my lifestyle choice...I didn't know I really had one, other than being addicted to TV.

All I was saying is: I take back when I jokingly called you a little bit gay (cuz we both know most canadians at least like to play badmitton). When you made fun of the little panzy fire, I thought is was an ungay, almost American thing to do. But in Califoria and all points west, they're all gay. So it a American-like un-Californian thing to say. You sure one of your uncles doesn't fish for Walleye?

Ahhhhhhh - got ya!!!

Sorry - I get called "gay" in real life quite often because I'm sensitive, watch TLC (decorating shows), use gel in my hair, am a Prince fan, own more than 6 pairs of shoes, know more than 5 colors, like doing skin cleansing masks, have Mauve walls in my living room, wear Polo clothing, and the clincher - I listen to women when they talk and can have a conversation for more than an hour without once mentioning having sex with them.

I think people assume I'm gay because they are incapable of having the personality traits I have. It's sort of a "I'm straight and I don't do any of that, so HE must be gay".

Oh well, at least I know what I really like and it's boobies, boobies, boobies!!!!.....and heartshaped butts. I'm a huge Gabriella Reece fan - love her body!

944S Boyeee - Canadian, but straight!!!

944S Boyee: thanks for your clarification on your lifestyle, but truthfully, your TMI here: Too much information!

At least you don't wear leisure suits!

Just messin'
-Z

PS: My wife suckered me into the interior design shows as well: my favorite: The Christopher Lowel Show! If you can get over his flamboyancy, he's got some really terrific design ideas!
