dirty wheels

Has anyone fitted brake dust deflectors to their wheels? I just can't keep my wheels clean! I was wondering if they had any effect on the cooling of the brakes. They are made to fit many cars as after market fitments, I've yet to enquire about the 944 though.

They don't interfere with brake cooling that much - I wouldn't want them on a track car, but for day to day driving they should be fine.

Thanks for your replies. Funny ones? also.
I,m pretty light on the brakes, at least I thought I was.
I'll fit deflectors if I find a supplier.

Road & Track has answered this question a couple of times in their Technical Correspondance section, and every time they recommend against them because of cooling concerns. Of course, you're an actual mechanic and work in practice instead of in theory. Still, it seems like one more shield to come loose and rattle. Better to just wash the car thoroughly every week in my opinion.
