Need Help Removing Starter!
Hello,
Any tricks for removing the starter on the 924 78?? I can only reach the bottom nut and I am still questioning whether it will slide out without hitting the oil filter-Of course the Haynes makes it a 5 step process of jacking up the car and removing the bolts then slappin it right outta there but mention nothing of how to reach the second bolt!! Any suggestions Please respond ASAP!! I am grounded here with an undrivable car and need to get a new starter on there SOON!! Thanks, Ron PS I have to drive my poor little 914 70 miles across Potholed I-4 Everyday-Maybe Even in the rain unless I get the 924 goin again!!

On the 924, the oil filter must be removed. As for that second nut, it is a matter of locating a good angle ( from above )and removing it. It has been a while since I have replaced a 924 starter (8 years at least ). Sorry I couldnt be much help
