83 944...can I just remove the factory alarm

I should probably check to even see if it works...but

I am trying to get my center console to line up and I notice the Porsche factory alarm "black box".

Can I just remove that box and trace the wirse back and remove those too without any ill effect?

There is a jumper procedure to be followed. Check Clarks Garage shop manual.

Garage
I think the Clarks Garage method is messed up since it leaves the module in place. Disconnect it and jumper the pins shown in the diagram with short lengths of 12gauge wire with male spad connectors on the ends. Just slip them into the end of the connector from the module side. I'll post a pic of the proper way to do it when I get home this evening.

Red face

You can pull the whole alarm and wiring, you will need to reconnect the DME wire at the fuse box, I had a non factory alarm wired into everything quite a job
