OEM Power steering reservoir and internal filter cut open.

I cut an original 1988 PS reservoir open.

The filter media is the center circular part covered by a steel plate.
It is round, about 1/4" (3mm) thick, 2 3/4" (7.0cm.) across and 1 inch tall (2.5cm)

It looks like a porous, fiber material.

In a previous post I detailed the installation and a required PS filter on my new rebuilt PS rack.

I understand why the rebuilder demands an upgraded PS fluid filter.
