Wire tuck?

Im just curious, has anybody here performed a wire tuck? I always thought the 944’s engine bay was a bit nasty and disorganized and its something i would like to do in the future as i shape this car into more of a show car instead of a semi-daily driver.

Its intriguing to think of show car goals, which make something like that worth it. I think disturbing the old wiring on these girls is somewhat of a risk for a driver, but perhaps the results for you would be worth incurring that. Ironically, I bought a new fire extinguisher for mine today - Costco has a good sized one for $12 right now rated for electrical fires.

there was a guy who did it years ago but the photos were eaten by photobucket.
as mentioned, be careful handling the crispy 30 year old harnesses.

i agree that there's way too much wiring and plumbing going on under there..

Anyone with the needed electrical know-how could fabricate their own custom wiring harness. I'm certain that the needed connectors could all be sourced.

For most of us it seems a bridge too far, but if you've got show car dreams, why not?

Iv had to carry a fire extinguisher in my past 3 cars due to having a fire in the engine bay of a MG because of radio wiring lol. So, i always have the extinguisher within reach in the 944

Personally I would build my own harness from scratch with tuck in mind. Some lengths needs to be modified. And stock crispy wiring most likely won't take bending more than 20-30 degrees without cracking. And the wires are most likely cracked where they go into the connector, peel back the rubber-boots and you'll see that easily.
