LSV8 swap VS Stock Turbo & ease of maintenance
Hey fellas, I was curious if anyone can confirm whether an LS swapped car is easier to work on then a stock turbo? I've heard that the stock cars can be very labour intensive to get at certain parts. I'm curious if the LS swap eliminates that problem or perhaps makes it worse, any thoughts would be appreciated.

this question would probably be better suited for the v8 conversion thread.. but LS engines are stupid easy to work on.

have you heard of the search function?
some here, a lot more on Rennlist, there is now 15+ years of swapping data available. it really depends on what part you are most concerned about working on. changing a turbo on a 951 is a full-day project, but spark plugs are cake. |

I have been DD my 951/LS1 conversion for the last 5 years. The only engine maintenance needed has been oil changes. I had to change the water pump once, took a trip to NAPA and an hour.

Techmo Duck is/was a member of this board. He did an LS conversion and documented his progress. Do a search and find his posts. His attention to detail is stellar
