front main seal doubt

Put on new front main seal but when done I got worried the lip flipped in on itself, paranoia?

I would think that's normal. Still should seal properly.

Seals have ribs or flutes to move the oil back into the motor with the direction of rotation. I would install it the right way.

Just withdraw the oil pump drive sleeve and reinstall. Should work to push that seal lip back in.

Be sure the tensioning spring is still in its proper location. It probably won't be pretty if it goes through the oil pump.

I used an OE seal there just recently and it did not sit flush into the housing. It stuck out about as much as the one you show and doesn't leak.
