Engine number, any tips
I have a 1988 924 and need the engine number to order the timing belt and component kit. Spent over an hour trying to find the markings. Looks like a bracket must be removed. Was hoping others have been down this road and might have a suggestion. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Starting in 1988 they put it on the other side of the cam tower by the #4 exhaust flange.

you don't need the engine number to order the timing belt kit.
just look for the 8-valve timing belt kit with the 46mm water pump roller, as well as the "late style" or "turbo style" water pump. |
