Unhappy its all over for me

it has come time for me to sell my car for multiple reasons. I am going to college in the mountains soon and i need a reliable 4wd car, plus i need a cheaper car to maintain. Right now, my car will not start most of the time, but does from time to time. It is a 1987 porsche 944 black with all black leather. the car has 35k original miles, and i have put tons of money, wayyy to much, into upgrading it. i do not have the means to pay to get the car fixed and running right again, so i must sell it as is. it has 6 month old 17 turbo twist rims with like new bridgestone s03 potenza tires. it also has several new and rebuilt parts, would be an excellent parts car, or possible track. Could anyone please help me by giving me a possible price? is anyone interested in my car? if not i was either considering donating it to charity or finding a scrapper, because i do not have the time or means to part the car out myself. all of the interior leather is in top shape with luggage cover and everything. thanks for any help, and thanks for all the help over the years.
brendan.

Excluding the auto to manual he put all his money into the interior to make it purdy. Now he complains because he didn't do the critical maintenance and it doesn't want to run.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

sorry so cal, but u are very wrong. i invested tons of money in new belts, rollers, radiator, air flow meter, o2 sensor, thermostat, water pump, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil, ignition, battery, air conditioning system, relays, everything! every bit of reccomended maintenance has been done.

justin-my car has for a long time had problems idling and cold starting, and after there was a short in the 02 sensor, my mechanic replaced it. since then, there have been other shorts, and the car just refuses to start, and when it does once in a blue moon it idles horribly and dies out. i dont have the finances to continue to fund this car, so i am forced to sell it. mechanically it is in very good condition, but i dont have the money to deal with 16 year old german electronics. thanks.
brendan.

Brendon,

Sorry to hear it. It sounds great and that you lovingly kept her going and improving her.

My '83 is still in pieces and I don't think I need another but shoot me an email as to how much you want.

Rick

If you had done "everthing" the car would be running like a top. You didn't need most of the stuff in your signiture to make a decent running car. It's more than likely some of the stuff is actually making something simple like adjusting the sensor clearance critical.

This is the part I hate.

Non-running (electrical\ignition\fuel problem) 87 944 NA with an automatic converted to manual,

ASSUMING: low mileage, documentable maintenance, body, paint, and interior in good shape. All power equipment and AC are functional

Allowing for premium stereo and premium wheels.

NOT considering DME or ignition upgrades

$1500 Maximum

Undocumentable maintenance: $500 Maximum

I'm sorry, I'm sure you have a very nice car and that you have put a lot of money in it. However, the fact that it isn't running immediately puts the car in "Poor" condition at best. Without being able to verify functionality of anything more than simple electrical components (windows, radio etc) There is no possible way to verify your claims.

Documentation al least provides a paper trail that can be verified - good maintenance records are hard to fake.

Would strongly advise you to get it fixed and then sell it.

You'd be far better off spending the money to get it running right, then selling the car as a runner.
