Early relay panel question 924S

I cannot find any instructions on how to remove the early 944/ 924S Relay Box Panel.

My '88 924S has the separate relay panel and separate fuse panel. I want to be able to do this myself if possible vs what my mechanic will charge for the job. Save a few hundred $ plus get the satisfaction if possible to do it myself.

Anyone have a link to a video or pictures? step by step instructions may help too.

I ordered a new / used panel to arrive maybe by the weekend and plan to clean it up if needed. What I have I'm told is issues with my DME relay working sometimes and not other times. Tested several relays and wiggling them is what gets the car to start..

also had an issue sometimes when I put my high beams on, the headlights turn off complately after the highs go on.

Thanks, Austin

Hi Austin - I found an earlier thread where this is discussed; thought you'd find it helpful on some level. Best of luck!

There are two round tabs on the left and right sides that hook into a metal bracket. once you remove the screw for the fuse cover the entire relay panel should push up and out of the brackets on both sides. It's fairly easy once you contort into position, way easier with the drivers seat removed.

Fuse Block Removal
Hey Dmitry, Thanks. Hopefully I don't have the short entangled wires that this guy Patrick had.

Hi Brad;
Removing the front seat sounds like a good idea for me.
Any idea thinking ahead a little how much room I'll have to work with? Meaning once the panel is loose how far away will it release to get to the rear wiring?
Will I be working upside down AND backwards for each wire or will there be enough room to be able to flip the panel around 180 degrees to face the opposite direction?

Thanks. Austin

When I did mine I pulled the entire dash out along with ever bit of cable tie and old electrical tape- I was able to fully turn mine around but getting all that free is daunting. I doubt it would move much at all without doing that though.

Yup, this brought back some memories...
I did remove the driver's seat in order to lie down, get comfortable and get working! The wiring was a total mess so I simply removed each rear connector, one at a time.

Just take your time and be very careful not to pull any wires unintentionally or you'll be scratching your head for a while. I drew up diagrams of each connector and their color-coded wires/positions.
