79 928

i just bought another 928 and this one has German markings on the dash, not english. Climate is Klimat.
there is a dial knob to the right of the center stereo that has letters on it and it pushes in and out. what is this for?

That is not a standard 928 switch on any 928 I've ever seen

Rotary Dial - WAG

Hey Lukerman - Are there any wires on the back side of this rotary dial, perhaps going to an old phone or CB harness behind the console ? There were some very strange set-ups in Europe during the late 70's.

The switch looks to be located about where the HVAC Internal Thermistor (& Sniffer Fan) is normally found. I agree with Stepson - not seen this dial before unless it's for setting the optional Hyper-Drive while traveling on the Autobahn.....

Any other guesses ?

Michael

yes this is a European model because all of the indicators are not English. there is a bulb inside of it so it lights up but have no idea what it is. Oh well, if i figure it out i will let you all know.

My first guess is something aftermarket stereo related. Does it have an old Blaupunkt Bamberg in it?
