Crazy new 928 owner LOL

Hi y'all,
I'm not new to Porsche, but I am new to the 928 sooooo, here we go,LOL.

Looking on the web last week and I ran across this 1985 928 sitting in the weeds. At first glance I did not think much about it because it looked pretty rough to say the least! LOL As I looked at other cars, I kept wanting to look back at it, and did. Then I noticed the lights on the front fenders behind the wheel could this be a lonely euro sitting in the weeds? Now it had my attention, so I looked at the other pics he had of it closer and on the rear bumper cover there it was, a rear fog lamp and no black bumpers. Still it could be a US car someone added these items to?
So I set out to contact the owner and sent a message, and no response , also no phone number was given, sooooo I had to go all 007 on him! LOL
I had a name and possible location, so back to the web, a quick name search showed a few people with that name close to where the car was suppose to be located. I picked one of the addresses and did a satellite view search of it, and sure enough I could see a house with a lot of cars just sitting around!
So I go and look at the Porsche and sure enough it is a 1985 928 euro with the ZZZ vin code, M28 22 engine code, auto trans, black on black 107,000 miles.
I did not need another project, but I was told by some of his family members he was going to crush it for scrap I could not let that happen so now I own it LOL!!

Here are a few pics!

Thanks! The car has been sitting for a long time. Good news is the engine oil looks good, and the timing belt is not broken.
Someone took off the left fuel rail and injectors, the rail was inside the car. So I plan on pulling the intake and cleaning the valley area of dirt and such, then pull the plugs and run a bore-scope down in them and look for any trash in the cylinders and intake valve area, If that checks out clean, I am going to put some marvel mystery oil in cylinders and let it set for a week.
During that time I plan on removing the cam belt covers and checking the belt condition, just to see if is is good enough, so that I can try to attempt to turn the engine by hand slowly back and forth, after the week of soaking. ( the piston and rings may not be stuck, I just do not won't to take the chance without the oil soak).
If all this checks out and the engine is free,(before I try to start the engine), I plan on a new cam belt and to use old rollers just for now, to start the engine and guage it's condition. I plan on cleaning the fuel tank, checking the fuel pump, new fuel filter, checking fuses relays that it needs to run, oil change, flush the cooling system with distilled water and then add coolant,I am going to update it to Bosch type II injectors also.

Some of the plan so far!
This is going to be moving slow for awhile.

Roger Tyson sells them. Pelican disguises the website since he's a competitor(not at all surprising actually) so just Google him.

Smile Another 928 Saved -

Hey Porsche 304 - Welcome to the 928 family. There is always lots of help and information here. You are taking all the right steps toward getting your new project underway by getting the maintenance CD's .

Once the CD's are in hand - you might print out a couple of copies of the wiring diagrams - one as a reference copy, a working copy to write all your notes on and a copy to carry with you when on the road. Most owners also gradually gather together a zip-lock-bag with an assortment of spare fuses, fuel pump and ignition relays for emergencies.

Good Luck - Michael

UPDATE:::: I removed the intake and cleaned the top of the engine, then pulled the spark plugs they looked great nice tan ceramic. So I feel as though the engine was running good the last time it ran.
I took a look with my bore scope and 6 of the cylinders looked clean, but two had some debris in them,( injectors were pulled and intake valves were open on those two cylinders)so I won't be able to continue with the start up plan, LOL
I went ahead and vacuumed the two bad cylinders out the best I could, and filled all of them with marvel mystery oil.
Now I wait until I have the time to pull the engine and remove the cam towers and heads.
Probably for the best anyway!
Take care and thanks!
