Greeting MY FIRST POST
Greetings
This my first post and I am happy to join the community of other Porsche fans and enthusiasts. Me and my father own an 1984 Porsche 928S that I purchased from Ebay Motors in November of 2017. Me and my father both had bought it from the original owner and it was a time capsule. We bought the car with its original paint and original interior. It had 56,736 miles from new. When we got the car from Connecticut and brought down here to Florida and it looked mint cosmetically, but it had its fair share of issues mechanically. First it had been sitting for while in the previous owners garage up in Fairfield, Connecticut and the engine hadn't gotten a proper service in a while. The first thing we did was do the a oil service, coolant flush, brake pads and rotors, hood insulation and torque tube replacement. Right after the service we had looked in the interior and saw something in between the driver's seat. I put my hand in there and found 2 new cassette tapes and the cars original dealership car that said Traynor Motors Porsche + Audi that had the address of 2269 Post Rd Fairfield, Connecticut which told us that the car had been Connecticut its whole life. After that we looked in the owners manual and found that the car had been purchased February 2, 1984 from the original owner. The seller told us that his father (the original owner) was a businessman and a part time fisherman. He drove it less than a 1,000 miles in the first ten years, and drove it a lot less after. We were finally happy that we got some history of the car. After that I decided to get into the 928 since my father did.(I didn't really know to much about it at the time). After doing some research I saw Rennlist, some videos and some articles and then I knew way more about the history and the development of the 928. I fell in love with it more after knowing more about it. Later on me and my father decided to finish up doing the major service on the car like the timing belt tensioner, head gasket, water pump, alternator rebuild, ac compressor rebuild, fuel lines (I kept all the original parts) and now we drive it about 1,000 miles per year. It currently has 59,856 miles and runs and drive like new. Me and my father are so glad to have gotten that car and now be apart of the community. Here is video of the car running and driving from the seller. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_G3LVcVacM&feature=youtu.be Thank You Eli Loutfi |

Unfortunately I can't upload the photos I have of the car because of the size they are, but there are on Rennlist if you want to see some photos of the car. Here's the link to the thread below

I also bought my 86 928S with low miles, one owner. The car sat for 19 years until I bought it with 38K miles. I also did the recommended maintenance plus a bit more. Pelican Parts Forum was a great help. Some really knowledgeable people on this site!

Very Nice Car -
Hey Eli - Welcome and what a great Lucky Duck find ! A 1984 928 in this condition is a time capsule and is becoming extremely rare. Many of us started our restoration process with about as many cosmetic issues as mechanical problems.
Now that you have her back on the road - You need to come up with a name. Something like "Lady In Red" seems appropriate ...:) Michael |
