928 Trans slow to go into gear.

When it's cold I have to leave it in park and rev it up or let it warm. I think it a seal because if I fill the ATF tank to full when it's hot it fills to the top when it's cold and even leaks a little. I think the ATF is leaking back from the torque converter. But according to the a manuals, I must remove the trans to remove the converter. Do you think I need to do this? Then, witch seal?
Thanks for any help!
