Whats your dream 928?
Simple rules, money isn't a factor, you don't get to sell it or rent it, has to be a real 928, you only get ONE (no cheating like two interiors or motors), but otherwise anything goes, daily driver, fun car, track car, museum piece in the living room.
What would you get, whats your dream 928? The more detail the better. I thought I would be typing out my choice right away, but kind of surprised me that while there are some features I know I like, some of them are premised on conditions I would not be limited to in a dream car. My practical choice is a 5 spd, but with a 6.4L stroker I might prefer a really well "tuned" automatic. I need to think about it a bit. |

The older the better simple classic 928 fun working on , maintaining, and riding,
No flashy wheels, colors, gadgets, engine power ups, or modifications. German made car already says it all. Just a real fine performance 928. |

I'd get a '90 GT in white with black interior. Aero mirrors, 18" Carrera III wheels, and a Kuhn TT setup.
For the black interior, even though I dislike Porsche factory Pascha, I love Paul Champagne's laser etched leather Pascha so add a full custom interior from Paul. Last edited by MrGST; 03-18-2009 at 05:09 AM.. |

single piece fiberglass front end, uber widebody for 335 slicks on all 4 corners, 7.4L bottom end, massively worked heads, large twin turbos, a tranny that could take the power without grenading, full underbody/aero workings to prevent lift, 2:1 PWR LOL, |

Someplace here in SoCal I believe there is a white 928, looks kind of stock, but its a full fiberglass body on a tube frame with 928 motor and suspension parts. I've seen it once at Willow Springs and it was FAST, walking away from everything else on the track.
OTOH somebody could have been pulling my leg on the details, but the guy I was talking to had a warehouse full of various fiberglass parts. *************** Still thinking on my dream 928. White exterior, maybe in a deep pearl. Black carpets. Cashmere, cork, or saddle on the seats. Not sure on the rest of interior, except it will be from Paul Champagne. Stereo factory looking basics with a sub in the spare well. Fiske wheels, 8" and 10", the ones like I think Sterling has. Race tires. Greg Brown Stoker, with hottest cam options (kill some low end, wick up the top). Full headers and exhaust by the Custom fab place next to Burns Stainless. Hate to say it, but edging toward a well worked over AT, especially if Erkka's upgrade materializes. Totally undecided areas OB vs fat butt. Clean vs aero To be updated/edited later. |

I am very fond of my 85, and after two years, the only thing I think I want is one of Carl's true dual exhausts with the MSDS X pipe and a shark tune.
Having said that, I would love to have an 86.5 with a DR twin screw, Konis, Hypercoils and a 5 spd with limited slip. Cobalt blue, Paul Champaign black leather pasha interior, Momo Monte Carlo with red stitching on a two inch extension. Five spoke Kinesis or Speedlines, 18 inch, as wide as possible. Large bore single exhaust. Red calipers. |

A new bone stock or one done over by the Porsche factory '78 928, no sun roof or power seats blue with black interior. Only modification I would consider is a GPS built into the console. Wow, what a dream!

![]() Mine would be a GTS 5-speed with a Greg Brown stroker w/headers, exterior painted Arena Red Metallic or a dark burgundy metallic with an all leather interior from Paul Champagne or Rob Budd in amaretto seats/door cards/shift boot, black carpet and everything else in black leather. Of course a high end stereo/nav system. 19" Techart or Ruf wheels with 2 pc rotors and red calipers. Now, if I only had a GTS to do it to........

My 2nd would be a 5 speed GT, aero mirrors, 17" Cup style wheels, midnight blue or burgundy met ext, with a cashmere int.
