84 still not running unless jumping relay??
Finally got the car to run but only after replacing fuel pump and then jumping out relay (which runs full time). Where does the wiring get its signal to run fuel pump?? Under the passenger side foot well is two computers. Which one is ignition computer? How do I check for power from computer? Could this be my problem?? Any other suggestions? Im desperate at this point!! Please help. Mark

Not sure about the 84 but the earlier relays get a signal from the ignition module (in engine compartment) to insure the engine is running. You may want to check/clean those connections. Also, jumping the 15 and 87 contacts will shut off the pump when the ignition switch is turned off.

if you can run the car by jumping out the relay, that would signal to me the relay is bad. Have you replaced it? Sounds simple, but it does sound like you need a relay.
