idle?

I have a 1979 Manual Trans 928. Runs great and is my daily driver in the spring, summer and Fall (live in Michigan).

Had the car up north and was muddy from the roads. Went to gas station and had one of those "touch Free" washes done to get the mud off. The car stalled in the washer. First stall in two years. Now I am getting intermittent idle problems.

Last week had normal idle (900) drop to almost nothing and had no power until I was at 3000 or so. once on the freeway, it ran fine. I left car sit for a day planning to look at it, but when I started it it ran great again.

This morning the problem was back. I started the car. it sounded fine. I drove a mile or so and all of a sudden I felt the power drop and when I put my foot on the clutch, idle dropped to almost nothing didn't stall but lights dimmed, steering was tough... I limped home and now it is parked,

Any Ideas???

I would check the distributor for possible water inside from the wash, also check the ground cable, sounds electrical to me
