82 cranks but no fuel injection.

Hello people, just installed the 5 speed transmission after replacing all the syhchros. And yes, the rear suspension. The car sat for a month while this was done. Now, it will crank but will not start. Ether (starting fluid) into the intake makes it fire up, so ingition is good. Fuel rails have fuel, but pressure unknown. Pump runs a few seconds when the key is turned on. Injectors show 12 V with ignition switch on. Replacing an injector with a small instrument 12 V bulb does not show it to flicker with the engine cranking. What time duration are the pulses? Should I see a flicker of the bulb? Should I rig up a LED or a scope as the sampling rate of most digital meters is too slow.
Any injection trouble shooting tips around in PDF?

Thanks in advance.

George

SAME PROJECT

Just this week end, my son and I took out the 3 speed automatic trans. In the 928 shop manual is stated to remove the battery. In the battery compartment are four white plugs. Did you forget to connect them?

Jump the fuel injector relay. That's always the first place to start in a 928 efi no-start situation.

Got the car to fire up. It helps when you figure out which fuses and relays go to what. It seems the charts my son had were not accurate. Had a bad connection at the fuse. The fuel pump relay jumper did not work UNTILL I found the correct relay. This is what sent me in the correct direction. Still wonder why the improvised noid light on the injector did not work.
