Red face instrument lights shorting out

I recently removed my '84 928 inst. pod and replaced the bulbs....everything works fine until i tighten down the 2 main allen (hex) bolts..then it keeps blowing fuse 4.( first frying the dimmer switch) I couldnt see any wires being pinched or in the way, so i just left them loose...that worked for a few days then it blew the fuse again! Has anyone seen this before?????

Its a serious problem, especially if the wrong wires get shorted. Damage to the loom, behind the fuse/replay panel, or a dash fire are beyond nasty.

Disconnect the battery.

Trace out the short with a low power device like a meter or test light.
