I,m the membership chairman of our local PCA and have always been involved with 911's. A new member found out about our a/c clinic held three weeks ago and want some help recharging his 82 928 automatic. I can find what looks to be the high pressure side fitting on the side of the receiver/ dryer but can't find the low pressure side schrader valve to add gas!! Can someone post a photo and or know the proper pressure's. I usually just add 30 points to the ambient for the high side pressure.

I'd like to know that myself, plus if anyone has a good recommendation for an R-12 to R-134 adaptor (I threw away my R-12 gauge a long time ago, so i can't even measure the pressure in the system right now)

Well, I found it myself. The low side schrader valve is on the inner right front above and in front of the right front wheel. It simply has a protective cover on it like the high side on the reciever/dryer. This is on an 82, I don,t know about other years.

IIRC they moved the low pressure port under the jump post in 85.
Worst place ever to hook up your LP guage. In 92 they moved it next to the expansion valve under the drip tray below the windshield. The right place - just 27 years to late.

They make a piercing valve that can be clamped on wherever you like...they hold up well too!
