I have just purchased a 1984 Euro 928S for $200.00.
VIN: WP0ZZZ92ZES841050 It needs serious help, but I am up to the task. Please take a look at the pics below and give me your insight please. Carfax says clean title. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Engine runs, interior replacement costs $1500, glass for just under 1K and electronics for about 1K. So should I restore it or part it out?

I will post new pics this evening. I have removed most of the "junk" and took out the elec.
panel. The panel looks to be original without alterations. The POD is in good shape, and the wiring harness looks to be complete with the exceptions of where speakers were. The window motors do work, (I have removed and am replacing the center switches though). Also, please call me if you would like other information I may be forgetting to post here. Thanks, Adam 281-520-8969 |

Wow now that is going to be a project!
You will be chasing a lot of electrical gremlins on that one. Not to mention all the obvious things that are wrong with it... If you are brave enough have fun!

That car is begging to die! Part it out. Looks like it's well on it's way to being parted out by someone already..

I'm probably the most optimistic person around, but this car is EASILY 10k from being a 5k car
on the bright side, the engine is worth 10 times what you paid for the car

You just got a hell of a deal on a Euro motor, but remove is the correct direction for parts on this car. They just don't make bottles of Windex big enough to take care of it.
Glass out means long term interior problems from exposure, everything will need to come out, and wiring troubles I think would be the eventual killer. I think its as good a candidate for a full restoration as any car, but fixing things I don't think will work, all or nothing. I would drive it to test the parts, then pull all the good stuff and start looking for a car with nice body and interior and bad tranny and/or motor for maybe $3k. OTOH I have an 84 Euro sitting in my drive way being parted out right now, I would be VERY happy to sell you all the glass etc. you need, but its in SoCal. |

If its a real Euro S and it runs - sell the motor - you will have plenty of buyers.
Since you need a complete interior, carpets, dash and seats $$$$ Paint, headlights, fender $$$$ Tons of work and really not worth it... If you really want a project - save the engine - look for a non running good condition car of a similar age and transplant the engine and anything else you need and part out the rest... Alan

btw, this car was last driven a year ago and the vehicle assault happened about 8 months ago. I have removed the interior and the only electrical issues so far have been with the driver seat and a few fuses burned out. I pulled the panel and all wiring is intact and clean. The center electronic section had been covered by the busted windshield for the most part. Headlight motors do work (created a temp switch) and interior lights also work. I might simply do some general cleanup, replace the glass and possibly turn it into a beginner track car (what do you think?).

Jeez! I though my project was going to be hell. Here are pics of mine which I also thought was an "S" but ended up just being a regular Euro.

I have never seen a car in that bad of shape that wasn't in the car graveyard. I agree that parting it out is the only sensible option. As to your restoration estimates, not sure where you got your figures. A dash, pod and empty consol alone, with nothing else, will be $1500. Good luck with it..

I have seen worse cars brought back, and Cap'n Earl's 928 GT is one of the nicest 928s I have ever seen. It cost him a fair penny, but a GT is worth an arm and two legs. Earl only has an arm and a leg into it, so he is ahead of the game. You might not be. |

Russ,
Thanks for the supply of parts. I put in the switches tonight and everything worked very well (Right back blinker and running light bulbs were blown) So far so good. Thanks again! |

At least he doesn't have to sand it down and repaint.
Anything but that.
