Need S4 motor
The S4 motor in my 1985 track car expired this past weekend at California Speedway. I think the extra grip from wider tires 275/40/17 all the way around and new Toyo R888 on the oval banking stressed the lubrication system too much. Ended up turning a 1:58, not as quick as Joseph Fan's stroker of Mark Anderson's cup car times but still generating a lot of g-force.
Looking for a used S4 motor and input on dry sump or other fixes to help with track survival of stock motors. Thanks Greg Phillips |

Last one I saw offered for $3500 didn't last long, but since then I've seen a complete but wrecked S4 with low mileage sell for less, so like all things 928 it varys a lot depending on buying, selling, and who needs one and for what. 928Intl wants $2500 for a short block, and I think 89+ heads fetch a premium.

Well have a set of 89 heads ported, decked all corrosion and ready to go. As well as everything on top of the heads to the cam covers. All fasteners. The cam covers and intake have been stripped.
