Proper use of gasket sealant
Some of you may not know how versatile gasket sealant can be, so here are a few picks of the US 85 motor I just bought.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1219904406.jpg This shows the benefits of liberal use of lithium grease. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1219904458.jpg Many may not realize that sufficient sealant easily replaces a thermostat. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1219904511.jpg Tomorrow the TB and heads come off, oh joy. ;) |
If sealant won't work then JB Weld certainly will :D
(don't forget to get your "bonded rubber buffers" for that throttle body!..just got word mine are on the way) |
Using just enough is the sign of a pro.

As if the poorly rattle can'd yellow valve covers didn't give you an idea of what's inside....
|
And they did so well painting the valves ...

They painted the valves? WTF?
That should all buff right out. |
Looks like what they taught me in autoshop in h.s., upper east tennessee. Didn't know we were really producing mountain crafts at the same time. Kind of autoshop/art appreciation.
You must have gotten a pretty good deal, else needed something on that block pretty badly... |
