We've said it before, if you can keep one on the road, everybody wins. Takes time, money and patience, though.
Just think, when you are 85 and hunched over a coffee table working jigsaw puzzles all day long you will have so much innate experience unwravelling contorted stuff that you will kick the ass of everybody else at the nursing home. 3 pieces to their one. |
The best way to look at it is that we are just focusing on one thing at a time. I'm looking for a parts car but I have a good amount of things to do that don't require money right now.we are just getting everything ready for when the parts car arrives.
:DI'm happy the car is coming along, Sorry I have not gone to help. Still looking for mine. OK Talk to you later Bro.
Congrats. That's a heck of a project. Are you going to stick with the current red? Or change it? You've definitely got your work cut out for you. Should give you lots of fun times with your son. Enjoy it!
I'm thinking the best is to stay with the red it will make it easier in the long run. Never had a red car before might as will be the porsche to be my first. Thanks

Hey guys no pic but will post them soon. Me and my son started sanding down the body last week, we hit everything with a 60 grit and went down to the bone in a couple of spots were the paint is chipping to the frame the car was painted before so we are dealing with two layers of primer and two of base "or more". I have started changing the boots on the trans axle which look good inside, but I do have to drop the steering rack that has a small leak. When I got the parts and time if you guys are interested I can post pic on the rebuild of the rack. Se Ya

HAVE FUN! |
so I started replacing vacuum hoses, fuel line hoses and coolant lines. Have all the injectors out and ordered my small and long seals, 180 psi fuel hoses from Roger. Hate the way my fuel rails look so went to my brothers house and sand blasted them, still not to happy with them so went out and get red power coat for them and we are going to do all the fuel rails, and the injector bolt down rings in red. I'll show pics with it's all put back together.
Many people have the rails plated, looks nice, but I am more of a hood closed spend nothing extra type. Still kind of tempting to get some bling.
Nice thing is that my brother has the equipment so it's more about the material and that was pretty cheap to got. The deal we have is that he keeps the rest of the powder coat for the rest of his jobs.
Sooooo, how's this project going Bro?
It's taking time but it's good.I'm waiting for my brother to finish the powder coating of the two lower fuel lines he is done with the upper one. Once he is done I can put anything back I've already have all the new fuel lines and seals on the injectors ready to go back and I washed all the intake aluminum parts and throttle body. It's going to look really clean once I'm done I'll send pics.
