My '91 was imported to NZ from Japan (Still has the Mizwa dealer sticker on the hatch) and yeah, RHD (which is very handy for here!) but my PO didn't succumb to the flared arch craze peer pressure.

Can't tell from the posted pic's?
Very nice!!

John

Thanks... yes it did have these funny extensions under the bumper with the reflectors. One picture below from the day I got the car and you can see them. Since then they are off the car. The rear fender flairs are factory GTS flairs installed at the factory option XG8 if I remember correctly and they paved the way for the GTS model. The front flares are uniquely to the Japanese market and appear on all GTS models bound for Japan.
I dont have too many pics yet, the weather in Vancouver has been very tough to keep it clean and get some nice pics. I attach some from a recent trip to the Oregon Coast.

The color is Amethyst Mettalic, pretty neat indeed.

Thanks. No this is a Euro left hand drive. A lot of 928's imported to Japan were left hand drive.

Actually every photo of the S4 Exclusive model I have seen has these front flares. They continued on to the GTS that were Japanese bound, so I highly doubt that this is the case. The S4's usually did not come with them, however mine is a bit of a different model, more along the lines of the GTS.

DJF1, I like the Design 90's on your car. I'm too much of a purist.

I love the look of the west coast burgundy S4. it certainly is a special car.
I recognize all the 928's from the Porsche Museum, minus the one from the car park. Rolled my baby out of the garage during a winter thaw for a current picture with its 18inch wheels.

The one in the car park is mine, that's why!! :D Those Carrera III's really suit 928's. Nice looking car you've got there..

I just picked this car up in December. Always wanted a 928, and now I have one! Pretty clean 1986.5, and most everything works!

where's the rear spoiler? Didn't think it was an option to delete it, requires fender/deck lid paint work to repair holes/tabs if not.

M.

MPDano 02-08-2012 06:11 AM

Yes, I was wondering the same thing. Looks sharp though.

Oh, wait a minute! It's a repaint. Look at the painted rubber gasket between the Rear/Front Bumper and Body. Arghhhhh, I hate it when painters don't do this part right.

milkman383 02-08-2012 07:14 AM

Yes, repainted. Was the burgundy color. It's a decent job, all the weatherstripping was replaced at the same time. I have a brand new spoiler and the 2 side pieces that came with the car, but I know why they weren't installed now. The hatch itself seems to be an S4 model from where the holes would be drilled for mounting. So, the path of least resistance is to get the rest of the rear glass molding and call it done. :-) The path of next least resistance is to sell the parts I have and get an S4 spoiler and install.

I guess I should do intro thread and everything, but I'll be around here a bit from here on out. I'm really enjoying this car!!

924CarreraGTP 02-08-2012 10:08 AM

Hi Milkman383. SmileWavy I hope to see more new people posting their pictures on here.

steve322s 02-08-2012 01:45 PM

milkman, nice car. as for the painted gaskets between the bumpers i like it. i will be repainting my car this summer and have been thinking of painting my gaskets as well. if i dont like them i'll take them off and install new black ones!

MP, love your cars but Arghhh i hate when people put rear spoilers on OBs :) each to there own.

having said that i had a s4 rear spoiler on my white 79, i took it off and gave it to a friend for his civic, and my daughter and wife r not happy they like spoilers too i guess!

steve322s 02-08-2012 02:07 PM
