Nice looking Pascha 78 on ebay
I'm not too interested myself, but this one could start a trend, a nice looking Pascha interior 1978 with about 80k miles, manual transmission, but I can't say how much of it is really original, and its on blocks since 2001.
Something I plan to watch though.

My guess is a Pascha nut Porsche lover.
![]() That was serious top dollar though, so it may not stay bought after inspection, seller certainly left enough holes in the ad, wrong year, original with later year spoilers, etc. that the winning bid could be just first right to inspect and offer.

Yes, but if you look at the photo's, the car is very well kept. The "no test drives" made me wonder about how well it runs.

way too much $$$$, even if it is optioned well. half the selling price would have been closer to correct market value, considering it's options (not counting the added spoilers---was that even an option on the first 928's? can't say I remember seeing any non-S with spoilers?).
much newer/cleaner 928s to be had for same money (try a nice S4 for less than $10K average price......). Seller found a deal on this one. ![]() regards---rhjames

Something I learned a LONG time ago on ebay, some people have no issue with money regarding items they want. If the goal is to fully restore a first year, 1978 928, the purchase price doesn't mean much in the overall cost.

That was I who bought the pascha 78 928! I paid 11k for it because it was the exact car my father owned when i was kid and it was in near mint condition. Cars like these are quite rare and only come around every so often. To this day I have yet to see another one in this great of condition with such low milage. It has treated me well but I'm moving on. If anyone's interested in it. It's in perfect mechanical condition. I've have a list of things I've replaced and or repaired to keep it in perfect running order. If anyones interested I'll be posting it on ebay next week. I'm in san diego. You can always e-mail if you'd like some pics. Micmike75@gmail.com

Thats right. I'm not sure if you've heard but we're in the worst recession in US history and eating and living under a roof is more appealing than driving my 928.

I'm in Golden Hill just east of downtown. Your more than welcome to check it out any time you'd like. It's been garaged since the day I've owned it.

Its a terrible time to be selling a car though, what are you looking to get for it?

I know, a terrible time it is indeed. I've put 15k into it. I'm looking to get the 11k I paid for it. The car truly is one of a kind and i'll be hanging onto it until the right person comes along.

Unfortunately what you paid, and what you put into it have little effect on the market value. It might be really good if you had a few impartial eyes look over your car. Unusual Porsche's need 6 months to a year to get a fair price. When you need to sell in a shorter time period, the results may not be pleasant. If you don't need to sell it within six months, why bother? If you do need to sell it within six months its critical to start with a realistic price. With many buyers you only get one chance for serious consideration. |

That's a lot for a 78, but I wouldn't consider it enough for Kermit. It's really not just any old 78 in great shape, it's exceptional and I'd hope it would go for closer to $40K, but in this economy that doesn't seem likely.

Chuck isn't going to sell Kermit on ebay. Posting a car for sale right now is free with a $125 charge only if it sells. Kermit is on ebay to make it more widely known that its available to the right collector, which it has been for a good six months or so. I doubt "reserve not met" will go away short of $75k.

[edit] while Kermit has been on ebay b/f, it was well over a year ago, I haven't actively listed it anywhere else since. It was on eBay once b/f when it was originally listed prior to me buying it.

Well, hopefully if it does sell it goes to someone else who's active in the community and not just stashed away in a garage someplace.
Thanks for all the photos though, it's really interesting to see what a 78 could look like and I'd love to see any more you have. |
