Electrical issue

I have a '90 s4...

About a month ago the onboard computer flagged a headlight that wasn't working... which was odd because the bulbs were only a month old. Nevertheless, I changed out both bulbs. The problem persisted, and after some checking, I realized that the right headlight (source of the problem) actually worked... but sometimes had a delay before fully illuminating, and other times would be only partially on.

I don't know a lot about electrical systems, but it seems that either a relay is off, or there is a short somewhere. I examined the headlight mechanism, and it seems to be fully in tact, with no loose wires in sight.

Any suggestions?

Mike

You might try swapping the headlight relays. I think #'s XXIII and XXIV in yours and see if the problem swaps headlights.

well grounded

Clean and check all the connections and grounding points.
X2 on the relay swap.
