532 is actually a baby these days, most go with a 572, but this one is fairly mint despite a variety of motors going in and out. It lives under a car cover, so I know its some special factory orange, but not the shape of the tail lights.

Glad to hear you aren't him. ;)

Check the green wire from the distributor acroSS the front of the motor on both ends etc. for damage or a poor connection.

Weird how many 928 owners have Chevelles, there is 69 or 70 with a 532 sitting in the shop about 20' from my 928, with maybe a dozen more dual owners who have posted about it.

People who make money flipping don't touch cars with problems (intentionally). They buy very nice cars, detail and fix minor things, then sell them at the premium really nice cars that look perfect sell for.

Checked the green wire from distributer to connector on right side of car looked fine,is there any voltage that I can check from this green wire?best of both worlds muscle car, sports car.I have been in the auto body business for thirty years.started as a metal man apprentice at a Oldsmobile dealership then got in to the refinishing. and have turned lots of cars,or flip as they call it now. my SS,928 never for sale.

Small blocks are the way to go. That poor car. Maybe my next project car.....The problem is they are all so darned expensive nowadays.

Please don't flip any car in corners, It tends to scratch the paint. Also do not become a U boat commander as in "Risky Business" as submerging cars is not a good idea unless you are James Bond.

Does the Tach move when you crank the engine? Do you have manuals? Documentation? Dangerleb is right on.... Green wire is a suspect.

The tach does not move when engine is cranked over,I have the owners manuals, the title of and a Chilton book that sucks.found some CD ROM Porsche factory manuals on ebay cant find anymore any good? The 70 chevelle body side contours& rolls down the sides and flairs over the qt&fender.kind of like the 928,toy supra.the 68&69 sides are pretty match flat.nothing sounds meaner then a rat motor.B-Jackson said 70 ss most popular& $$$.

I think that I just gave it a few taps with whatever I get to it with and it fired right up. I'm sure that I did either that or cleaned the contacts really quickly and "varoom." Good luck.

Dan

What does DME stand for? box with contacts where on rad sup or fender rail?thanks for your imput trick391.

The DME is I think the CDI, ignition box, Digital management engine in German maybe.

Very good chance then the one in the shop is a 70.

Signal on the green wire are ignition pulses, hence the coax.

Funny a LOT of body guys are owners, maybe we should have thread where you can all chat about beating metal. ;)

HAH, nothing sounds meaner than a Euro S 16v motor. ;)

Too bad I can't remember the rest of the thread to fix this problem. ;)
