Those old used motor blues ...
Last year I bought a Euro S motor off ATTARCO, one of those places that imports low mileage motors from Japan. I was looking under every rock for a motor at the time, and they had one so I bought it. Not exactly a pristine low mileage motor, more like they found it in some Oakland junkyard with a rattle can detail (not really cleaned at all, but sprayed with black and grey paint to look like it in poor quality picts.
Today I decided to tear it down and have a look, yuck. Passenger side front intake tube is cracked at the base, maybe damage from shipping (arrived with the remains of the first pallet strapped to second one, also broken). As long as the heads and cams are ok I think I will still be happy, find that out in a day or two. Lock the crank at 45 degrees to take it apart, right?

Picking it up today, tearing it down tomorrow, but I'm buying it as a roll of the dice, not a supposed to be fine motor. I'll be in Poway, but not for long.
