Need help identifying hoses!!!!!

i have quite a few hoses that lead to nowhere:confused::mad:. some of them have unique bends in them so that might help out with this process. if any of you know where or what these hoses go to, that would be awesome. here are the pics:

the one that goes down the intake runner and turns a hard left
http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/s...2/DSC02442.jpg

the hose goes down to the other side of the block. my best guess is a coolant hose but i really have no clue

and then there is this thing.... it comes off of a plastic tee on the bottom left of the picture. i dont know whats supposed to connect to the tee or where this hook shaped hose is supposed to go either.

i just know it comes down and around to the back of this thing which is to the right of the bell housing

Looks like your missing your Diverter Valve. This valve runs air to your airbox or exhaust. The vacuum line is what controls the valve.

MPDano 05-02-2009 08:47 AM

This thread may help. I can't seem to find a pic of mine.

Clutch slave cyl. No hose, bleeder screw. A good thing-- one less hose to worry about!

Looks like Air injection and Tank ventilation circuits. MPDano is right--something is missing! Maybe this will help? Happy hunting!

Most of those bigger hoses will have a Porsche part number, makes for easy ID.

Hose in question looks to be #24 in the upper diagram, and all that stuff below it appears to be missing and needs replacing or figuring out how to do without.

That bad boy is gone, missing, nada, kaput. I will take a pic of mine and show you what it should look like.

MPDano 05-02-2009 01:43 PM

Here you go. It always helps me better to see actual pics rather than diagrams. Puts into better perspective. You should also have a long tube going across the passenger cam cover to a host that goes to the Smog Pump.

MPDano-That engine looks great! Where did you get the blue Plenum intake couplers? All I have seen is red.
Any problems running with the exposed TB? Looks nice!

John

And the blue air intake couplers?

MPDano 05-02-2009 02:33 PM

Exposed TB is fine so far. I only got about 400 miles on her since I got it running. The Blue Silicone Couplers were one single hose and I cut them down to size very carefully with an exacto knife. They work great. Lot's of choices in colors too.

WHAT THE HELL?? do i "need" all of that? i live in Florida not Cali. no smog devils here. but i mean i now know i dont have them, but i also now know that at once it did cause its just ripped out of there.... the car runs good, i think. and i havent noticed any problems besides the whole damn thing..... could i just jerk all of the rest of the smog stuff that wasnt removed before? like all that hosing... what they go to if it is smog related, take the smog pump off if i have one... blah blah blah..?

MPDano 05-02-2009 08:17 PM

If you don't need smog in your state, just block the hose and vacuum line.

haha yeah.. i bought some more line today but its for that 9ft long line that runs from (i think) the gas tank to something on the front of the car... i think its the breather line that brings gassy air to a charcoal thing that filters fumes from air in gas tanks so it doesnt blow up:D
